MANCHESTER – A pair of motorcycle riders from Litchfield are facing charges after police say they were clocked speeding down the highway at 128 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.

Rembert Zambrana and Erin Crete were stopped by a New Hampshire State Police trooper early Saturday evening on Interstate 93 south. Police said the pair were logged traveling 73 miles per hour over the speed limit.

About 20 minutes before the arrest, police received a complaint about a large group of motorcycle riders who were operating recklessly and holding up traffic on Route 101 in the area of Exit 9.

Trooper Mark Dore then observed Zambrana and Crete traveling with a pack of motorcyclists who entered Interstate 93 from the 101 interchange in Manchester at 6:41 p.m. Zambrana was driving a 2010 Honda CBR600 and Crete was operating a 2008 Suzuki GSXR600.

Dore pulled them over with the assistance of Trooper Ryan Hajjar after observing them traveling at a “high rate of speed” and clocking them on radar, according to a police announcement.

Zambrana, 34, and Crete, 31, were arrested on charges of reckless operation and marijuana possession, according to state police. They were taken to the barracks in Bedford and released on bail.

They are due to appear in Manchester district court on the charges at 8 a.m. on Oct. 6.
