Police are looking for another batch of residents interested in learning more about their local police department and just what it is all those officers and detectives are up to all day.

Applications are being accepted for the department’s 26th annual Citizens Police Academy, which will begin Sept. 17.

The eight-week program will be held at the Nashua Police Department, 0 Panther Drive, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Nov. 5.

Students will learn about the roles of different divisions within the department, including detectives, uniform patrol and professional standards, as well as specialty units such as the Special Reaction Team and bomb squad.

The program is free. Anyone interested should call Community Policing Coordinator Ed Lecius at 594-3544.
