NASHUA – Nashua police deployed officers and at least one tactical team to a house in the city’s southwest quadrant Saturday evening, closing down streets and drawing curiosity from residents of the otherwise quiet neighborhood.

“All the neighbors were outside,” said resident Christine MacNeil, who watched with others as police closed down the area surrounding Pioneer Drive.

MacNeil photographed a group of law enforcement personnel hanging off the sides of an armored police vehicle as it drove through the neighborhood around 7:30 p.m. Some wore helmets and camouflage gear.

“Pioneer Drive is a circle, and they had both ends of it blocked off for a while,” MacNeil said. “We kept trying to ask what was going on, but they weren’t really giving much information.”

A Nashua police dispatcher said Sunday that officers were first called to Pioneer Drive at 4:40 p.m. Saturday. A supervisor at the station declined to provide any additional information. The supervisor referred all questions to Lt. Denis Linehan, who was not expected to be available until Monday.
