The American Red Cross will again host its huge summer blood drive, the annual WZID Chill and Grill drive, at Nashua High School South next week.

The blood drive will be Wednesday, July 16, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. The summer drive is particularly important to the Red Cross because many regular blood donors travel during the warmer months, which can have a significant impact on blood stores in the region.

The Red Cross has teamed up with 95.7 FM WZID for several years and again this year will be handing out a 2014 Chill and Grill T-shirt and American Red Cross Tote bag to each donor. Other giveaways include coupons to Chick-fil-A, Pizza Hut, Weathervane Seafood restaurants and Cumberland Farms. Donors also will get two tickets to the Nashua Silver Knights game on July 18 and a coupon for $10 off a M/S Mount Washington Cruise.

Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-Red-Cross or visiting redcrossblood.org. You must be 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health to donate.
