A Nashua man is facing two felony charges after police accused him of trying to take an officer’s handgun while trying to harm himself.

Police were called to a Nashua home shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person trying to hurt themselves with a knife. When they arrived, officers saw that a second person was struggling over the knife with Connor Shea, 41, of 6 Sky Country Drive, Nashua, and went to intervene, according to Nashua police Lt. Jeff Maher.

During the struggle, Shea is accused of twice grabbing and trying to remove an officer’s weapon from its holster, Maher said.

Shea is charged with two counts of taking a firearm from a law enforcement officer, a felony, and misdemeanor resisting arrest, Maher said.

Shea was taken to a city hospital for evaluation and was then held on $10,000 cash or surety bail pending his arraignment at Nashua district court, Maher said.
