A Nashua man is facing a felony theft charge after being accused of stealing clothes from a store in the Pheasant Lane Mall.

Nashua police were called to the Daniel Webster Highway mall on Thursday when a security officer at Sears said he had spotted a man take some shorts and a shirt and run out of the store, police said.

Patrol officers stopped Cory Michaud, 23, of 1 Beacon Court, and charged him with theft. The charge was upgraded to a felony because Michaud has already been convicted of two theft-related charges, police said.

Michaud was held on $1,500 cash or surety bail pending his arraignment Friday at Nashua district court, police said.

The Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years, plus fines, police said.
