NASHUA – A man was killed in a fatal crash on West Hollis Street on Friday evening.

The Nashua Police Department’s accident reconstruction team was still on the scene near 699 W. Hollis St. at 8 p.m., more than two hours after the crash.

A blue and white Ford Mustang was in the front lawn of a home across from Hollis Landing, an assisted-living facility. It appeared to have crashed head-on into a tree not far from the roadway.

Sgt. Craig Allard, a member of the reconstruction team, referred all questions to his supervisor, Lt. E.Z. Paulson.

Paulson said an autopsy would be done and more information likely would be available afterward.

Sgt. Joe Molinari said the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. and that an adult male had died.

The crash happened on the western edge of the city, near the border with Hollis and not far from Fotene’s Market.

Police had taped off a section of the westbound lane of West Hollis Street, but light traffic was still flowing in both directions.
