HOLLIS – A man paying for his coffee with stolen money from the tip jar at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street and a woman who helped herself to a pound of coffee from the same store nearly a month ago still have not been identified; and police are asking for the public’s help.

On June 25, Hollis police took a report of a theft that had taken place the day before.

It was reported that a man came into the store around 3 p.m. and after ordering a coffee, stole money from the tip jar located in front of the register. The male subject then paid for his purchase and left, police said.

While reviewing the video evidence in this case, police noticed determined that a female had entered the store a few minutes before the male subject, and when leaving the store after making a purchase, the woman stole a pound of coffee off the display shelf.

Police said they are not sure whether the two thefts are related, and they are attempting to identify the subjects involved in these crimes.

A surveillance video from the store can be seen with thish story online.

The man is described as a white male, very short brown buzz cut hair, light facial hair, slender build, 20-30 years of age. He was wearing a white tank top and blue jean shorts.

The male subject also appears to have tattoos on both arms on the bicep area. The woman is a white female, 20-30 years of age, medium build, dark brown hair.

At the time of the alleged theft, her hair was in a pony tail, and she was wearing black shirt and white shorts.

Anyone who can identify either of these people or has information is asked to contact the Hollis Police Department Detective Division at 465-7637.
