Nashua police arrested a man Tuesday and charged him with firing a rifle inside a city apartment building.

Douglas Leas, 45, of 6 Danforth Road, Apt. 10, Nashua, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and charged with felony reckless conduct.

Police were called to the residence just after 2 a.m. for a report of shots fired. Detectives met Leas outside the building and after an investigation, determined Leas had fired a rifle inside the building placing residents in danger. No one was injured, police said.

Leas was released on $2,500 cash or surety bail pending an arraignment in Nashua district court on June 14, police said.

The Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison plus fines, police said.
