NASHUA – What child – big or small –
wouldn’t love the chance to climb aboard a fire truck, Nashua Transit trolley, Brinks armored vehicle or AMR ambulance?

Local youngsters will have that opportunity when Touch-A-Truck is held at the Nashua Airport on Perimeter Road from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2.

The free event is part of Nashua’s SummerFun calendar of events.

Touch-A-Truck provides a unique opportunity for children to explore vehicles of all types – public service, emergency, utility, delivery and those that are just plain cool – all in one place.

Children will be able to touch, climb on and ask questions about their favorite trucks in a safe, supervised environment. Accompanying personnel will teach children about the equipment displayed and how these machines help in the community.

Trucks scheduled to attend include a police command vehicle provided by the Nashua Police Department, a Brinks armored vehicle, an Xfinity bucket truck, an AMR Ambulance, a First Student school bus, a Hannaford Supermarket tractor-trailer and a trolley provided by Nashua Transit.

The equipment used to keep runways clear at the airport will be featured, as well as a variety of service vehicles from the Division of Public Works.
