Humane Society for Greater Nashua

Chloe here! I’m an 11-year-old Shih Tzu looking for a quiet home. I do love lots of attention from my people, and will let you know when I’m ready for a walk. I’ll admit that I’m set in my ways, and I want to be the only pet in my new home to get all of your love! Don’t worry, though, I promise you won’t need any other pet but me. I’m currently on prescription food for urinary issues, so my new family will need to understand that no matter how cute I look or act, no table scraps, please! Though I have a few special needs, I don’t let my older age hold me back; I still love to go on new adventures. Could I be the dog for you? Come meet me today!

The name is Tiger, and I’m a high-energy boy looking for someone to play with me. And just so you’re aware, my favorite toy is a ribbon of fleece. The staff here say I’m a complete love bug who will make a wonderful family pet. Before arriving here as a stray, I lived outside for more than a year, and I might like to have a home where I can enjoy the outdoors from time to time. A kitty friend in my home would be OK, but just be warned, I’m a food thief. I try to steal food from other friends here when I can. What can I say, I like a challenge, enough so that I even like to receive my food in a puzzle toy! I’m sure we’ll be fast friends, but you need to make the first move. Come adopt me today.

The Humane Society for Greater Nashua is at 24 Ferry Road, Nashua. Hours are noon-5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, visit, call 889-2275 or email

Sammy is a 1-year-old Chihuahua/Papillon. He’s white with brown-tipped ears, a cute button nose and fancy leg “feathers.” He’s a tiny 15 pounds, but is huge on charm and personality! Sammy loves to play with compatible dogs. He’s good with cats. He can be a “wallflower,” taking some time to warm up and become his sweet, affectionate self. He’s a good co-pilot and is studying basic obedience. He dreams of a home with a compatible dog or cat and a yard to chase butterflies in. He would do best in a quiet adult home or one with gentle older children. Sammy is looking for someone who will spend plenty of time adoring him. He loves to play with toys and “stockpiles” them.

Hours are by appointment only. For more information, visit, email or call 233-4801. Meet our adoptable pets at our monthly Pet Adoption Day at the Pelham Congregational Church, 3 Main St. The next one is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. July 26.
