Nashua Altrusa Club member receives international relations award

Altrusa Club member Kathey Richo, of Nashua, recently received the District One Nina Fay Calhoun International Relations Award from Sue Hawes, of Bangor, Maine, District One governor-elect of Altrusa International.

Altrusa Club of Merrimack Valley embarked on an international literacy project with the help of several Franciscan sisters to deliver school supplies and dental hygiene products to impoverished children in Brazil, Bolivia and Guatemala. Dr. William L. Gagnon, a dentist in Hudson, donated 100 dental care pouches filled with toothpaste, toothbrushes and dental floss that were delivered to missions in Guatemala.
