HUDSON – The George H. & Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library will celebrate its fifth birthday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 7.

There will be music, children’s crafts and entertainment, a local author fair and free birthday cupcakes.

One of the fun activities planned for the day is a cupcake contest. The library is looking for people who are willing to bake a batch of cupcakes and have them judged to see who wins the prize. People also can volunteer to bake cupcakes without entering the contest.

Bring a printed recipe with your cupcakes. Register for the contest at rmlnh.org/events or call or stop by the library to sign up.

Authors of books for all ages in a variety of genres will sell and sign their books. Authors include Andy Cormier, Anne Kelsey, Jane Rice, Joe Smiga, Joyce Ray, Lewis Hastings, Marcia Strykowski, Mel Graykin, Michael Sparling, Michaeline della Fera, Michelle McCorkle, Nikki Andrews, Quincy Whitney, Robin Rousseau, Ron Dube, Roy Goodman, Shara Puglisi Katsos, Ute Carbone and Valerie Lofaso Roy.

Library fines will be forgiven for patrons attending the party. Dig out all of those overdue materials that have been hiding under your bed – Saturday is the day to return them for no fines.

People who want previous fines forgiven or need to replace a lost card should bring their card or a picture I.D. Charges for lost items are not included in fine forgiveness.

For a celebration schedule or more information, visit rmlnh.org/events or call 886-6030.
