NASHUA – The High Hopes Foundation of New Hampshire hosted its first Spring Gala at Nashua Country Club in April.

The Merrimack-based foundation is a nonprofit charity founded in 1983 that is dedicated to granting life-changing experiences to chronic and seriously ill children in New Hampshire. Wheelchairs, a handicapped-friendly swing set, a handicapped-accessible van and family trips are examples of experiences granted.

“We chose a spring theme because it is a time of renewal and hope,” said Rachel Cameron McMeen, director of the High Hopes Foundation. “High Hopes strives to bring hope and renew the dreams of New Hampshire’s children facing medically challenging conditions.”

Event sponsors were Brookstone Corp., “Major Event sponsor”; Centrix Bank, “Red Carpet sponsor”; and Holloway Motors Mercedes-Benz, “High Hopes Fan sponsor.”

Other companies and individuals contributed time and expertise: live music performed by Robert Allwarden, A-llustrious Events, Cheetah Design Studio, Cupcake Conspiracy, BurstPoint Technologies and Photography in Studio C.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the turnout at our first annual Spring Gala,” said Elizabeth Butler, High Hopes board member and chairwoman of the Spring Gala Committee. “When guests heard the High Hopes children and families speak about the positive impact High Hopes had in their lives, they were eager to support the organization’s mission,” she said.
