"Our continuing mission—to provide the developmentally disabled adults entrusted to our care a secure community environment within which dignity and life-purpose may be realized, irregardless of disability. Down syndrome, severe seizure disorder, profound autism-these are only some of the life-long conditions that hinder our special residents."

Nestled in the woods of rural southern New Hampshire, the Lukas Community is a residential community for adults with developmental disabilities.

The philosophy that guides the Lukas approach to caring for the disabled is called anthroposophy, which was developed over a hundred years ago.
