Nashua nurses awarded for excellence

The Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services was recognized for excellence in immunization at a recent New Hampshire Immunization Conference.

“New Hampshire childhood immunization rates have ranked among the top in the nation for several years,” Jessica Ayala, DPH program assistant said. “The fact that Nashua DPH and Community services is amongst one of the organizations that were recognized is a great achievement.”

More than 400 health care providers, health educators and public health professionals discussed trends, recommendations and best practice strategies at the conference, presented by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services , Division of Public Health Services.

The Excellence in Immunization Award was given to the city’s five public health nurses who provide community outreach, education, collaboration and health services in the region.

“They are the most dedicated staff and the most passionate staff I have ever experienced,” Ayala said, of the nurses.
