Woman arrested in stabbing case

Police say a young woman was arrested in Nashua early Saturday morning on multiple assault charges.

Kaysha Barriffe, 23, no address given, was charged with first-degree assault and a first-degree assault – domestic violence, both Class A felonies, according to the Nashua Police Department.

Officers say they first responded Sept. 9 around 10 p.m. to the area of Orange Street for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police learned a male had sustained serious lacerations to his wrist when he was stabbed with a knife.

Barriffe, who is known to the victim and someone he has been in a romantic relationship with, was identified as the suspect, according to police. Officers say the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Barriffe was held on $15,000 cash or surety bail pending arraignment in a Nashua courtroom.
