Police: Brookline man subdued after knife pulled

A Brookline man was taken into custody Monday after police say he confronted officers with a knife.

Officers with the Brookline Police Department reported 40-year-old Victor Webster, of Pepperell Road, had allegedly pulled a knife from his pants pocket and started toward one of the policemen.

Authorities were called to the scene after reports of a possible suicidal subject in the Pepperell Road residence. It was stated the individual had a knife and wanted to confront the police so the police would shoot him, according to police, prompting town officials to block the road.

Webster was taken into custody after the police subdued him with OC spray and a Taser, reports state. He is expected to face charges of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
