Three men arrested in Nashua brawl on Tuesday afternoon

By Staff | Jun 8, 2016

NASHUA – A Forge Drive resident who police say pulled a gun on a neighbor, then was hit over the head with a grease gun and pepper-sprayed by police for allegedly threatening an officer, was one of three people arrested following the Tuesday afternoon brawl outside the man’s home.

George King, 50, of 57 Forge Drive, was treated at a local hospital for a head wound then booked on two counts of criminal threatening, one of which is a Class B felony, and one count of resisting arrest or detention, according to police.

Also arrested in connection with the incident, which was reported around 4:30 p.m., were Shane King, 20, also of 57 Forge Drive, and Dylan King, 22, of 4 Mitchell St., Apt. 1, Nashua. Police didn’t say if, or how, the men are related.

Shane King was charged with one count each of obstructing government administration and possession of a controlled drug, both Class A misdemeanors.

Dylan King was charged with one count of obstructing government administration, police said.

All three were later released – George King on $300 cash bail and Shane and Dylan King on $10,000 cash or surety bail each.

The younger Kings are scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 3 and George King on Aug. 8, all in Nashua district court.

Police and a neighbor of King’s who witnessed the melee said they believe it was sparked by an argument over speeding cars.

The man police identified only as the victim "was confronted regarding vehicles, which were seen at his residence, operating disorderly," police said in a statement.

The confrontation between the man and King "escalated quickly," police said, and at one point King allegedly "threatened the victim while pointing a handgun at him."

The victim then allegedly struck King on the head with a grease gun, police added.

Raul Graciani, the neighbor who lives across the street from King, said speeding is common in the neighborhood.

"There are a lot of kids around … and (drivers) … fly up and down the street," Graciani said as he watched police talk to witnesses after bringing the scene under control.

He said he believes one man told the other "to mind his own business. That’s how the fight started."

Police said the first-arriving officer found George King kneeling on the ground and bleeding from the head, as Dylan King was shouting "demanding that someone be arrested," police said.

As the officer turned his attention to Dylan King, police said, George King stood up, allegedly picked up the grease gun that was used to hit him in the head "and started quickly towards the officer."

When King allegedly ignored the officer’s order to drop the grease gun, police said, the officer sprayed him with pepper spray. King at that point ran into his residence, police added.

As a crowd gathered, the officer radioed urgently for backup, which drew more than a dozen additional officers to the scene.

Dylan and Shane King were arrested shortly thereafter, and George King was also taken into custody without further incident, police said.

He was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene then transported to a local hospital for further treatment before being released.
