I didn't get up at 1:59 a.m. to celebrate Pi Day to six digits - there are limits (math joke!)

I'm not quite sure why pi has become mathematics' most successful pop-culture meme - "e" is easier to spell. But Congress is unlikely to ever pass an E Day proclamation, as they did for Pi Day.
Nonetheless, today is Pi Day, so we'll take what we can get.
A number of school districts are holding celebrations around the state, as is Portland Pie, the Maine-based pizza company, which knows a marketing opportunity when it sees one. As for me, I'm heading up to judge the New Hampshire Science and Engineering Expo at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord - the closest thing we have to a state science fair.
