Porstmouth Science Cafe tomorrow: The science of Sustainable Communities
Posted by David Brooks | Tuesday, March 5, 2013
Portsouth Science Cafe (sponsored by the UNH EPSCOR program) is tomorrow, March 6: "Sustainable Communities, Public Health, and Transportation: Connecting the Dots". It's at Portsmouth Brewery at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for food and drinks.
Panlists are University of New Hampshire public health professor Semra Aytur; Cyndy Carlson, an engineer and professor of environmental science at New England College; and Plymouth State University professor of environmental science and policy Shannon Rogers.
Their website is here, although it's skimpy on details. One cool thing is that the events are broadcast, after the fact, on the local community radio station, and are podcasted. Science Cafe Nashua is working on a podcast of our "science of brewing" cafe. (We decided against video because I'm too handsome.)
The April Porsmouth cafe is titled "Going Underground: How the Soil Beneath our Feet Affects Climate" which sounds pretty interesting.
