Can you measure your home heating efficiency from the vibrations of your furnace flame?

I have a story coming in the Sunday Telegraph about a Merrimack engineering design firm (really a father-and-son engineering duo) who say they've developed a meter which can measure your home's heating efficiency by listening to the flame in your furnace or boiler. They've got a Kickstarter campaign to do a first production run of 400 units.
Here's their website, with a link to the Kickstarter campaign. My story is still in the production phase, so I can't link to it.
