You can buy a rock-climbing session with Bitcoin - the Free State folks love it

Bitcoin, the non-governmental digital currency, is one of many topics of discussion this weekend at the Liberty Forum, a gathering of Free State Project fans in Nashua. I've got a story about it today in the Telegraph (every scintillating word can be read here), although much of it is about a Manchester-based group of Bitcoin adherents who are trying to get it accepted by local retailers.

One retailer that does accept Bitcoin: Vertical Dreams, the climbing gym in Manchester and Nashua.

As I've said before, my current reaction to Bitcoin is the same as my early reaction to wikipedia: Cool idea but it won't scale and will fade away. You can see how accurate my prediction for wikipedia was; we'll see about Bitcoin.
