New Lowell engineering building is an $80 million eye-opener

One of the neat things about being a reporter is getting to go to interesting places - like the new Saab Center at UMass-Lowell, an $80 million R&D facility for nanotech, plastics engineering (Lowell's specialty) and other techy stuff. I've got a story about it in today's Telegraph, which makes the point that UMass-Lowell is the closest big research university to Nashua, even though we tend to overlook it because it's not in New Hampshire.
Last month I wrote about the Plastics Hall of Fame, hosted at the building. They're working on more of a museum of plastics history, and already have some really cool stuff, including some gorgeous Art Deco radios from the 1930s.
