Zipcar still moving to Boston, even though Avis bought it for $500 million

The usual path with "disruptive" technologies is that the existing industry first ignores them, then tries to crush them, then buys them.
Zipcar, by far the leader in what might be called the distributed rental-car model, has hit the jackpot: Avis will shell out $500 million for it. TechCruch says the company will continue its move to Boston: story here.
