Stuff of nightmares: Poultry plucking machine

The above photo shows a chicken carcass that has had most of its feathers removed in an automatic chicken-plucker. Those black fingers are hard plastic/rubber; the tub spins at maybe 50 rpm and the carcasses bang around; most of the feathers are removed within a minute or two.
The photo was taken as part of a story I'm doing about the region's first mobile poultry slaughterhouse. Sometimes my job is pretty interesting.
