New technology brings surprises, like cars that burn in a seawater flood

Officials are puzzling over why 17 plug-in hybrids - 16 super-expensive Fisker Karmas and a Prius - burned at a New Jersey port after being flooded by Hurricane Sandy. Presumably the seawater made odd connections throughout the battery, but nobody's quite sure. Here's an item from Yahoo Auto.

It's just a reminder that new technology always carries surprises - not always good ones.
