Splashing in the Souhegan to test for bacteria is a nice way to start the day

I was out on the Souhegan River this morning, collecting water samples for the biweekly e. coli testing (which are collected here).
River levels have gone way down from the very high point two weeks ago, after lots of rain, although it's still too high for me to wade into the center, since I have boots rather than hip waders. (One of my boots leaks; I have patched it twice but water still oozes through - annoying.)
It's a lovely way to start a morning. It's going to be at least 95 degrees tomorrow and maybe 100 on Thursday, so maybe I should revisit the canoe launch site where I do my readings - this time to dive in.
