Study says Boston has fastest average Internet speed in the country

Akamai, the network company, says average Internet speeds in Boston are 8.4 Mbps, the fastest of any American city (although way behind the South Korea average of 17.5 Mbps). Take that, Silicon Valley!
Akamai is headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., but let's assume they're good geeks and wouldn't be homers (in the sense of definition No. 4),
The numbers are part of the company's latest global Net-speed analysis, which showed a surprising fact: The average connection speed fell in the last quarter of 2011. Here's a synopsis from Akamai.
