It hit 118 degrees in Delhi yesterday ... I was a little warm last night, myself

Most of us are very good at contemplating people who are better off in some way and feeling bad about our inferiority - but one of the secrets of happiness is to do the opposite: be glad you're not a person who's worse off.
So even as I was warmer last night than I wanted to be, I am glad I don't live in Delhi, India, where the temperature hit 118 degrees (47.8 C) yesterday, breaking a 70-year-old record.
Ye gods - 118 degrees in a big crowded city! I wonder how habitable parts of the equitorial region are going to be in a few decades.
