A few rainy days sure make a difference to stream levels

Until this week it has been so dry that I was preparing a "start worrying about drought" story - but I've had more than three inches of rain in the past three days, more than I've had in the previous three months.

The above chart, from the USGS WaterWatch site, shows what happens to small stream like the Souhegan River when you get a few days of heavy rain: 10-fold increase in water volume.
