MANCHESTER – From 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, the annual Best of NH Party will be held at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

This year’s event will feature award-winning food and beverages from more than 60 establishments located across the Granite State, as chosen by the readers and editors of New Hampshire Magazine, plus live music and entertainment.

“The Best of NH Party continues to be a greatly anticipated event, and for good reason,” said Rick Broussard, editor of New Hampshire Magazine.

“We’ve brought together the best establishments from across the state to one location for an all-inclusive evening of food, drink, and non-stop entertainment. A portion of the ticket sales benefits New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of New Hampshire Catholic Charities, which means all of this fun supports an important cause,” he said.

The entertainment begins before the doors open on the pavilion area of the Verizon Wireless Arena. The Manchester Roller Derby team will be serving Kona Shaved Ice to visitors and Spoof Gabbling Circus will perform juggling and unicycle routines. Aerialists from Go Ninja and Bare Knuckle Murphy’s in Manchester will also be performing in the pavilion area.

Inside, Portsmouth-based power pop band The Connection will kick off the party with their upbeat songs that evoke the early music of the Beatles and Stones. The closing act is the up-and-coming Concord-area band, Pat and the Hats. They will be performing music from their newest release.

Party attendees can enter to win a grand prize of an all-inclusive, seven-night vacation for two to The Oasis at Sunset in Jamaica, including airfare courtesy of Penny Pitou Travel and Travel Impressions. Guests can spin the New Hampshire Food Bank’s prize wheel for a chance to win gift certificates provided by many of the 2014 Best of NH winners.

A portion of the ticket sales benefits the New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, and the only food bank in New Hampshire. Their mission is to feed hungry people by soliciting and effectively distributing grocery products and perishable foods to more than 400 registered agencies. These agencies include soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, elderly and children’s programs and more. In turn, these agencies provide hunger relief to the one in nine men, women and children in New Hampshire who are in need.

Tickets cost $65, or $55 each for winners and groups of six or more. Tickets for children ages 4-10 cost $19.
