Get out early!

This week I was finally able to find some time to hit the drugstores in search of deals. I clipped my coupons and made a list of what I was looking for on Monday and headed out Tuesday morning. First stop: CVS! I had heard about a great deal on Skintimate Shave Gel - buy one for $3.89 and receive $4 EB* back!! I also had some $1/1 coupons making this a $1.11 money-maker. I was also looking to do the spend $12 and receive $6 EB* deal on the Speed Stick deodorants, using the B1G1F coupons. The last deal I was on the hunt for was the spend $30 and receive a $10 CVS Cash Card. I was looking at the 12pk Sunkist sodas and Xtra Detergents for this deal.

Well, I didn't have much luck! I ended up going to 3 different CVS, and wasn't able to find a single Skintimate or Lady Speedstick! I finally found the Sunkist at my third store! I was able to get 6 12pks of soda and 6 bottles of Xtra Laundry Detergent. My total was $30.94. I used 6 $1/1 Sunkist 12pk coupons and 2 $.75/2 Xtra coupon, plus a $2 EB* I had from last week. This brought my out of pocket down to $21.44 and I received a $10 CVS Cash Card.

After driving to all three stores I didn't have much time to try any Walgreen's or Rite Aid deals. So, the point of my tip this week is.... get out early! Shop on Sunday if you can! Grab the newsletter and your coupons and go! Also, please try not to clear the shelves of product! It is very frustrating, especially to newcomers, if there are no deals left at the store. I know how tempting it is, especially when you find a money-maker, but try to think of the rest of us couponers!
