Two Nashuans charged

Men arrested for different alleged offenses in two separate incidents

NASHUA – On Monday, Nashua police arrested a city man on an arrest warrant for aggravated felonious sexual assault.

Officers arrested Jay Duclos, 52, of Nashua, at 3:58 p.m. Monday after they received a report of alleged sexual assault involving a female adult on Sunday. The victim reported that she woke up while Duclos was sexually assaulting her during her sleep. The two are known to each other and as result of an investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Duclos refused bail and was held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections in Manchester, pending his arraignment at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-South.

In a totally separate case, another Nashua man allegedly reported a false robbery on Monday.

Police officers found the claim to be untrue, and through their investigation, learned Alexander Matiz, 26, of Nashua, had been involved in a domestic incident with an adult female.

The victim states that among other things, Matiz assaulted her by placing a pillow over her mouth and nose, causing her to be unable to breathe. They are known to each other, and the female was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, Matiz is being charged with second degree assault-domestic violence, criminal mischief-domestic violence and of making a false report to law enforcement.

Matiz refused bail, and was set to be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-South.
