Rivier University: A Transformative Institution

Rivier University is a distinctive institution of higher education committed to its mission of 'transforming hearts and minds to serve the world.' Founded in 1933 by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Rivier's transition to Rivier University on July 1, 2012, provides the opportunity to reintroduce Rivier to the world by showcasing our commitment to programs of academic distinction, global engagement and student leadership.

In 2011, Rivier celebrated the inauguration of its 12th President, Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, and recently began a new chapter in its nearly 80 year history with the creation of an institutional strategic plan and a comprehensive campus master plan. The launch of new academic programs - including a B.A. in Global Studies, B.S. in Transnational Security Studies, B.S. in Marketing Communications, M.Ed. in Special Education with Autism Specialization, online M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration, and online M.B.A. in Information Technology - ensures that the University keeps pace with the academic goals and career aspirations of prospective students.
