Dyn, Manchester Net firm, wins ‘most democratic workplace’ award
MANCHESTER – Dyn, formerly Dynamic Network Services, has been named to the WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplaces 2012. It joins 47 companies from across the world such as HCL Technologies, New Belgium Brewery and Zappos.com. Eligibility for this award is based entirely on employee feedback.
“We know that people here believe in what they themselves create,” said Gray Chynoweth, COO of Dyn. “The more people feel empowered and engaged by the projects they’re working on and the company they’re working for, the more likely they’re going to work harder, faster and stronger.”
Among other accomplishments, Dyn was recognized for its use of an internal version of Pinterest in which employees could contribute ideas before moving into a new 25,000-square-foot corporate headquarters in Manchester. Many of these ideas were then implemented into the design of the office space.
This is the sixth year the award has been given and it is Dyn’s inaugural appearance on the list. According to WorldBlu, this year’s list is the most globally diverse to date with companies ranging in size from five to 90,000 employees and generating more than $17 billion in combined annual revenue.
Founded in 1998, Dyn is an Internet Infrastructure-as-a-Service leader, powering Managed DNS and Email Delivery for more than 4 million enterprise, small-business and personal users. It has 17 data centers around the world.
