James R. Murray
NASHUA- James R. Murray, 92, died peacefully Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack.
James was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 12, 1925 and was the beloved son of the late James Feldili DiRatto and Bedelia Murray. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines for four years as well as the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged.
For many years, he was employed in the security department for Batesville Casket Company as well as Wackenhut Corporation until his retirement.
In his free time James spent many hours at the Nashua Library and at the Nashua Senior Center Gym. He also never missed breakfast at Roland’s Restaurant to see his special waitress there on Thursday mornings. He was a man of many activities including loving art, nature, reading, walking the city, cooking, and of course cribbage. He was a legend to know.
James is survived by his two dear friends that became family for the past 20 years, Frank Walsh and Linda Greene-Walsh of Litchfield, NH and their family. He also leaves behind many dear friends that include his cribbage partners at the Lafayette, the cribbage friends at Nashua Housing and many other friends from Nashua Housing who will miss him dearly.
