Six Elks get ready for regional soccer shoot

Six Nashua Elks Soccer Champions will represent New Hampshire on Nov. 7 in the Area 1 Elks Regional Soccer Shoot at St. Albans, Vt. Jack Barbour (U12) of Hollis and Nashua’s Ryan Guidaboni (U14), Tony Eid (U10), David Pike (U8), Darby O’Neil (U12) and Haley Shaw (U10) all won the New Hampshire title in their respective divisions and will compete against other players from New England.

SOFTBALL

Hollis U12 minors win two

The Hollis Riptide U12 minors lost their first game of the season to Bedford, and won over Merrimack in a doubleheader. Jessica Sargent had five strikeouts in two innings pitched. Emilie Tousignant and Audra Paradie continued with their good defense. Mackenzie Yarter (three RBIs), Isabel Keefe (three-run double) and Avery Webb sparked the offense. The Riptide are 5-1 for the season.

Hollis U12 majors drop first

The Hollis Peace U12 majors lost their first game this season to Milford. Great offense by Amanda McDonough, Cat Morgan (triple) and Tori Sargent. Good pitching by Kristen DuPont and Kathryn Bobek. Great defense by McDonough, Bobek and Morgan. The Hollis Peace are 4-1 for the season.

H/B U16 wins three

The Hollis/Brookline U16 team swept a doubleheader in Milford, winning the first game 19-6 and the second game 19-2. Lia Bobek, Nicolette Anderson and Tanina Cadwell kept Milford in check with outstanding pitching performances. The Hollis/Brookline team proved too much for Bedford, winning 7-3 to bring its record to 5-1. Laura Dapolito hit a two-run double to left in the bottom of the third that made the score 4-3.

GYMNASTICS

NEGTC opens season

The New England Gymnastics Training Center of Hudson competed in its first state sectional of the season held at NEGTC in Hudson. The gymnast goals for this meet was to achieve an All Around score of 33.00 to qualify for the upcoming Winter State Meet in December.

Level 4 (6-8)

Madison Greenhalgh placed sixth with an all around score of 35.475. She received a score of 9.275 on vault (second), 8.6 on bars (eighth), 9.0 on beam (fourth) and 8.6 on floor (eighth).

Madison Hoyt placed seventh with an all around score of 34.85. She received a score of 9.35 on vault (tied for first), 8.65 on bars (tied for seventh), 8.05 on beam (12th) and 8.8 on floor (sixth).

Level 4 (9-10)

Emma Rousseau placed third with an all around score of 35.1. She received a score of 9.15 on vault (second), 8.4 on bars (third), 8.5 on beam (sixth) and 9.05 on floor (third).

Level 5 (7-8)

Skyler Bomba placed second all around with an score of 35.075. She received a score of 8.825 on vault (second), 8.750 on bars (first), 9.05 on beam (first) and 8.45 on floor (third).

Jackie Smith placed fifth with an all around score of 32.05. She received a score of 9.0 on vault (first), 7.6 on bars (fifth), 7.8 on beam (fifth) and 7.65 on floor (fifth).

Level 5 (9-10)

Jesse Carter placed fourth with an all around score of 34.625. She received a score of 8.475 on vault (eighth), 8.6 on bars (third), 9.0 on beam (first) and 8.55 on floor (fifth).

Level 5 (11+)

Abigail Thomas placed third with an all around score of 35.600. She received a 8.75 on vault (tied for first), 9.15 on bars (first), 8.75 on beam (fourth) and 8.95 on floor (third).

Level 6 (9-10)

Dominique Gentile placed second with an all around score of 34.700. She received a 9.05 on vault (first), 7.75 on bars (fourth), 9.0 on beam (second) and 8.9 on floor (second).

SWIMMING

STORM hosts meet

The YMCA of Greater Nashua STORM swim team kicked off the season by hosting its first ever invitational meet. Three teams comprised of 200 swimmers competed in a pentathlon-format meet, swimming in events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley. STORM swimmers placing in the top 3 overall in their age groups include: Grace Tramack (third, U8 girls), John Puksta (first, U8 boys), Alexander Johnson (second, U8 boys), Aron Laborera (third, U8 boys), Julia Krawiec (second, 9-10 girls), Elisa Jolly (third, 9-10 girls), Vipheaviny Chea (first, 11-12 girls), Catherine Green (second, 11-12 girls), Autumn Tierney (third, 11-12 girls), Nico Laborera (first, 11-12 boys), James Jolly (second, 11-12 boys), Sarah Halstead (second, 13-14 girls), Matt Puksta (first, 13-14 boys), Jordan Tierney (first, 15-16 girls), Alyssa Peterson (second, 15-16 girls), Eric Howard (first, 15-16 boys) and Ryan Clukey (second, 15-16 boys).
