Defenders 5, Skyhawks 4

AUGUSTA, N.J. - Zane Chavez went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored and Argenis Tavarez finished 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored to help power New Hampshire to a 5-4 win over Sussex.

Chavez smacked a RBI single in the top of the seventh to snap a 3-3 game and give New Hampshire a lead it would not relinquish. Chavez put the American Defenders on the board in the top of the fourth with a solo home run. Tavarez drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth to give New Hampshire a 5-3 lead.

Dave Wasylak picked up the win for New Hampshire after throwing an inning and giving up two runs on two hits. Lucas Ledbetter held the Skyhawks scoreless through the final 1-2/3 innings to earn the save.
