Defenders 5, Skyhawks 3

AUGUSTA, N.J. – Jerod Edmondson’s bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth plated three runs and completed a New Hampshire comeback as the American Defenders topped the Sussex Skyhawks 5-3.

Trailing 3-2 entering the ninth, New Hampshire loaded the bases, and with two outs and a 1-2 count, Edmondson lined a fastball to right-center to clear the bases.

Nick Asselin gave up three runs over eight innings to garner the win for New Hampshire. Cooper Brannan pitched a perfect ninth to earn the save. Sandy Nin went 1-2/3 innings, giving up the three runs in the ninth, to take the loss.
