Poll: Dodd’s approval rating drops again
Eds: UPDATES throughout to ADD reaction from Dodd campaign. Will be updated.
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd’s backers say they’re skeptical of new Quinnipiac (KWIN’-uh-pee-ack) Poll results showing his approval rating has declined again.
A Connecticut Democratic Party spokeswoman says they have “a hard time believing Chris Dodd has done anything but strengthen his political position.” She says they’re not taking the poll very seriously.
The poll, released Thursday, says 54 percent of voters disapprove of Dodd’s performance. That’s up from 49 percent in September.
It also says former Republican Congressman Rob Simmons and former ambassador Tom Foley would beat Dodd if head-to-head matchups were held right now.
The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.
