Social networking Web sites offer glimpse at accused
HOLLIS – Autumn Savoy, a 20-year-old former Hollis/Brookline High School student arrested in connection with the murder of Kimberly Cates, describes himself as misunderstood and loyal friend.
On two social networking sites, MySpace.com and Bebo.com, Savoy described himself as a “small town kid in a place where people just don’t get me,” and as someone who would “take a bullet” for his friends.
“Im the kind of guy that will stick with his friends till the end i would take a bullet for any of them but if you start something with my friends you start something with me,” he wrote on the Bebo site. “im the kind of person that doesnt really care what you think about me i am who i want to be. i dont follow whats ‘in’ cuz i dont give a damn. im not a prep, goth, punk, nerd, stoner, or any of those other labels u might wanna place on me im my own kind of person. i love music im very diverse in my tastes but its all good.”
Investigators announced Savoy’s arrest Wednesday. He’s charged with two counts of hindering apprehension or prosecution and one count of conspiracy to commit hindering apprehension or prosecution in connection with the Cates murder last month. He was arraigned on the first two counts at Milford District Court on Wednesday and will be arraigned on the conspiracy count in Nashua District Court on Thursday.
Four other local men were arrested two days after the murder. Two of them, Steven Spader, 18, and Christopher Gribble, 20, both of Brookline, are charged with first-degree murder.
According to the sites, Savoy is a fan of wrestling and was a member of the HBHS wrestling team at some point. His MySpace page, which he last logged into on Wednesday, said he attended the school from 2005-09 and earned his diploma, although his graduation date is not noted.
Savoy is in a relationship, according to the site, and his latest mood status update was “in love.”
He also listed his interests as piercings and tattoos. He has two tattoos, a scorpion on his left shoulder and a pair of lips under his left collar bone. There’s also a picture of a drawing he made of two revolvers with their barrels crossed that is to be his next tattoo, according to the site.
The MySpace site also lists Savoy’s four “unofficial” brothers as Nick, Ryan, Justin and Wilson. He lists his interests as mixed martial arts, UFC, wrestling, music, tattoos, piercings, concerts, mosh pits and movies.
His musical interests, according to the MySpace profile, are wide ranging, and he listed dozens of bands on the site. He added songs by bands like Bullet for My Valentine, Hollywood Undead and Escape the Fate on a music player embedded on the site.
His profile quote is “Life is bullsh--- so live fast and die young.”
Savoy has strong Irish and Portuguese roots that he’s proud of and is very patriotic, according to the Bebo.com profile, which hasn’t been active for 142 weeks.
Both sites have a number of pictures, including several self portraits of Savoy, some with his shirt off and some with friends.
Other information on the MySpace profile shows that Savoy is 5-feet, 6-inches tall with an athletic build and is a Scorpio. He said on the site he smokes but doesn’t drink and wants children someday. He also describes himself as an atheist. The site also indicates he has worked at Alpine Grove since August 2008.
