Hudson gas station robbed at gunpoint

Hudson police are asking for the public’s help to track down a man who robbed a gas station at gunpoint Thursday night.

A man, described as young and white or Hispanic, walked into the Gulf gas station at 18 Ferry St., shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday brandishing a handgun and demanded cash from the male clerk, according to Hudson police Detective Sgt. Donna Briggs.

The man was wearing a black leather or fake-leather coat over a hooded sweatshirt, a baseball hat and blue jeans, police said.

The clerk handed over a small amount of cash and the man fled the store on foot in an unknown direction, Briggs said.

Nothing else was taken during the robbery and the clerk was not injured. The man did not make any threats during the robbery aside from showing the handgun, Briggs said.

“I think a gun’s a good enough threat, right?” she said. “Anyone who walks into a store with a gun is dangerous.”

Hudson’s crime scene unit was able to recover some evidence from the scene, but Briggs declined to say what that was.

A K-9 unit was able to track the man for a short distance from the store. It is possible he got into a vehicle after fleeing on foot, Briggs said.

The robbery was captured by security cameras and police are working to improve the quality of that footage.

Briggs said she hopes to release video and still images of the incident soon.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Briggs at the Hudson Police Department at 886-6011. Anonymous tips may also be left on the Hudson Police Department crime line at 594-1150, Briggs said.
