Woman to enter plea in theft case

A Merrimack woman facing several felony theft charges is expected to enter a plea in court Monday to avoid a trial.

Meredith Moore-Flores, 31, of 21 Scott Drive, was scheduled for trial next week on charges she bilked $62,000 from her former employer, Insight Technology Inc., in Londonderry.

At a recent hearing in Rockingham Superior Court, Moore-Flores indicated she would instead be making a plea in the case.

Rockingham County Attorney James Reams said he can’t comment on plea arrangements before a plea is entered in court. A message left with the public defender’s office was not returned Friday.

Last fall, Moore-Flores was charged with five counts of theft from Insight, a weapons manufacturer where she worked as an assistant.

Moore-Flores was accused of producing fake expense reports for items that weren’t actually ordered by Insight employees, photocopying her supervisor’s signatures, submitting the reports and then receiving reimbursement checks for expenses not incurred.

Those actions netted her $20,000, according to Londonderry police.

Moore-Flores was also accused of falsely enrolling in Bentley University in Massachusetts, which allowed her to file for tuition reimbursement from Insight. Moore-Flores was accused of creating fake grade reports from the school and filing them with the company. She received $42,000 in reimbursement money, police have said.

More recently, Moore-Flores was arrested by Nashua authorities, who accused her of lying to police and the court this summer regarding a threat she claimed was made by her former husband, Albert Flores.

Moore-Flores allegedly told police she received a threatening call from Albert Flores, which would have been in violation of a protective order against him. This summer, she testified against him in court, and he was found guilty of criminal threatening.

After police investigated inconsistencies in phone records, Moore-Flores was charged.

The couple opened Always New 2 You, a consignment shop in Merrimack, last December.
