Alleged break-ins bloody suspect
NASHUA – A burglary suspect was cut up Tuesday morning after breaking into one home through a window and then breaking into another nearby home and jumping out through a second-story window, police said.
Gregory Kent, 18, of 37 Burke St., was arrested on a felony burglary charge and taken to a city hospital after his arrest shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday, Detective Lt. George McCarthy said. He remained in the hospital in stable condition and was expected to be released to police and arraigned today in Nashua District Court.
Police were called to Haines Street shortly after 2 a.m. on a report that someone was breaking into a vacant house, Lt. Bruce Hansen said.
Police found a broken window there, and blood spatter trail leading to another house nearby, McCarthy said. Kent allegedly had walked into that house through an unlocked door, McCarthy said, but the second house was occupied, and when residents woke up, Kent fled, breaking out through another window while police were just outside, McCarthy said.
“While they were conducting their investigation, this guy jumped out a second floor window onto the lawn of the property,” McCarthy said.
Police are still investigating the incident, but it appears that Kent suffered cuts from both broken windows, McCarthy said.
