Child Advocacy Center founder gets award
CONCORD (AP) – The founder and executive director of the Child Advocacy Center of Hillsborough County is being honored for her commitment to help children affected by abuse and neglect in New Hampshire. Kristie Palestino is this year’s winner of the Attorney General’s Task Force on Children Abuse and Neglect’s Dr. Roger M. Fossum award. The award is named after the state’s first chief medical examiner who died in 1994.
The attorney general’s office says Palestino is not only responsible for the daily operations of the accredited centers in Nashua and Manchester but during her career has conducted more than 1,700 interviews of children alleging sexual abuse.
