School officials approve FY25 budget proposal

NASHUA - The Board of Education voted unanimously during its April 17 to approve the district’s proposed $131 million operating budget for fiscal year 2025. This figure, which does not yet include the cost of benefits, represents a 4.49 percent increase over last year’s operating budget of $125.4 million. Chief Operating Officer Daniel Donovan said the cost of benefits this year is estimated at $50.8 million, a $2.6 million increase over FY24. Prior to the vote, board member Heather Raymond suggested adding a part-time recording secretary to manage the board’s meeting minutes. That task currently falls on Executive Assistant Tara Kinsella and Administrative Assistant Gail Porter.
