Londonderry resident returns for second Boston Marathon
LONDONDERRY - Running to support the Pediatric Otolaryngology Department at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Kerry Momnie, 40, of Londonderry, recently finished her second Boston Marathon with a time of 5:19:06. “The most challenging part of the race was the heat,” said Momnie. “It was a lot hotter than the weather I had trained in all winter, it was a shock to the system. I made sure to pack extra electrolytes to combat the heat and made sure to hydrate in the days before.” With temperatures in the low-70s, she said the energy from the crowd was “incredible” along the entire course. “Making that final turn onto Boylston (Street) and hearing the roar of the crowd is unlike anything else,” said Momnie.
